Why do STI front lips fit so well on Hondas/Acuras?

I remember when I had my TL, another guy I knew had a STI lip on his and it fit perfectly. Been browsing forums and found it’s a very common thing to buy some form or year of STI lip, tweak it just a little, and boom it’ll fit on any Honda/Acura.

This is just some odd coincidence right?

I think it’s a Honds thing in general to take lips from other cars and slap em on. Like 4th gen civics, guys use Volvo 740 lips, mk3 GTI lips, and an other one I can't remember.

They fit on everything. I had one fitted on my Mazdaspeed3 with some minor alterations.
